Hypermetal is pleased to announce its contribution to a major milestone for the space sector: the EM-02 engineering model of the WaterCube propulsion system, developed by our client Capsule Corporation, has successfully completed its full test campaign.
Hypermetal had the honour of supporting this achievement through the production of critical components in Aluminium and Stainless Steel via metal additive manufacturing, delivered ready for assembly and fully compliant with EN9100 requirements for the space sector.
The testing campaign included:
– 15 hours of cumulative firing time,
– 60 hours of heater operations,
– Hundreds of on/off cycles,
– Six repetitions of one-hour continuous firing,
– Up to 35% above nominal power, resulting in +25% specific impulse.
This achievement represents an essential step towards flight model qualification, with a launch window set for Q3 2026.
