Hypermetal is officially certified to EN 9100:2018 for the manufacture of metal components using Metal Additive Manufacturing. This internationally recognised standard for the aerospace and defence sectors confirms the compliance of our processes with the highest requirements for quality, traceability, control, and risk management.

EN 9100:2018 is equivalent to AS 9100D and JISQ 9100:2016 and includes all ISO 9001:2015 requirements, with additional aerospace-specific criteria.

EN 9100:2018 fully incorporates the structure and requirements of ISO 9001:2015, while adding a substantial set of aerospace-specific criteria. These include enhanced risk management, reinforced traceability, stricter configuration and documentation control, robust supply chain oversight, product safety requirements, and dedicated processes to prevent nonconformities.

Whereas ISO 9001:2015 is a cross-industry standard, EN 9100:2018 introduces additional depth, focus, and control tailored to applications where safety, performance, and repeatability are mission-critical — from aircraft structures to spaceflight systems. As a result, the level of operational, technical, and regulatory rigour is significantly higher, reflecting the complexity of aerospace manufacturing.

This achievement strengthens our ongoing commitment to technical excellence, innovation, and reliability, ensuring our customers benefit from complete confidence in critical and demanding applications.
